I hosted our Second Annual Soup Swap yesterday. It's such a simple thing to organize and we had a great time. Twelve ladies took part this year.
I served a big pot of baked potato soup ...
... and crusty bread. We ate and talked ...
... and then swapped soup. My kitchen island was completely covered in containers of soup! We didn't plan what everyone would bring but there were no doubles. We lucked out like that last year too.

I've never heard of a soup swap. It's brilliant! And I could go for some soup right now, after we got dumped on with snow! Glad I found your blog!! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks great! We love homemade soup here. Delicious!
ReplyDeleteI love this Idea. What were the guidelines for the soup? How much per person? I have a few friends that I think would love this too. Any suggestions from your experience would be great.
ReplyDeleteLucia, thanks - it's been really fun both years. I had 12 people attending so each person brought 12 containers of soup (they went home with their own soup as well just to make the sorting easier). The containers hold 1-2 servings so they make the perfect weekday lunch. The soups are labelled and some people bring their recipe as well. It's easiest to transport if everyone brings their soup already frozen. If you go to www.soupswap.com, they give straightforward directions ... I referred everyone there the first year.
DeleteI love this!! My Christmas cookie swap was a bust since I waited till the last minute to plan it, but I bet I could do a soup swap and get more people involved anyway! How awesome, everything looks so good!
